The coral heads and reefs that comprise the trails are ideal for easy shallow water snorkeling adventures. You will see juvenile and adult species of Caribbean reef fishes as well many different types of coral and even an occasional sea turtle or lobster. Each time you visit the trails you should see more and different fish. Gently and slowly snorkel around each coral head and reef system and look closely on the top, sides, and bottom of each coral head and ledge. The visibility will generally increase as you explore further from shore but please do not go beyond the outermost buoy. Remember it is not a race, and do not swim out farther than your comfort level.
Look But Please Don’t Touch. There are many creatures and formations to see while snorkeling on the trail. To avoid an unpleasant experience with a sea critter or the coral, it is always best to just look and not touch. Poking, prodding and touching the coral, even with a gloved hand, can damage or kill the coral and can cause discomfort to the snorkeler.
